That’s right, we found out yesterday, Ella’s going to have a sister. Lots of estrogen going on in this household.
Other exciting news on the climbing front is that I actually made progress on a 12a called Five Easy Pieces. I tried the climb this summer and couldn’t work out about 3 moves before the crux. Then I tried it yesterday and I figured out the moves! I couldn’t believe it. I’m now 8 pounds heavier than usual, but somehow I did the moves. I don’t think a pregnancy send is in my future because the route trends more toward the powerful side, but as soon as I’m back in shape, I’d love to project it. I also need a proper send on Bolt From the Blue another 12a. Last week I did the pregnancy top rope send (at 17 weeks pregnant), but that one will be at the top of my list as well.
Additionally, a friend from Vegas is out visiting for the month with her 4 year old girl who is one of Ella’s best buddies. She also brought her friend from Wales and her 2 year old daughter. So, we are having quite the kid climbing month. I’m excited to climb a bunch this month with these strong ladies. Saturday we’re planning a major kid climbing day, so if you’re in the area and want to get your kid out climbing, look for us taking over at Smith!
Finally, on the baby gear acquisition front, I got a BOB Stroller Stride stroller for $275 (regularly $469) and a Graco Pack ‘n Play for $40 (regularly $119). I’ve saved almost $500 so far. Yay Craigslist!
